Teuila Blakely Presenter Profile

Profile

Versatile Performer & MC Extraordinaire

Teuila is one of New Zealand’s most recognised faces, best known for her four year stint on Shortland Street as the feisty yet vulnerable nurse Vasa Levi. She’s acted on other popular series including Filthy Rich, Outrageous Fortune and it’s prequel Westside. She showcased her comedy skills on animated comedy series bro’Town and feature film Sione’s Wedding, along with it’s sequel. However, she’s also a successful TV and radio presenter, founding host for both hip-hop radio station Flava FM and C4 on their live show Freestyle. Extremely versatile, Teuila has written and performed in her own 2003 play Island Girls, for which the NZ Herald named her one of the country’s best young writers. During her time on Dancing With The Stars, Teuila chose Women’s Refuge as her charity, which led to her becoming an ambassador for the cause. A powerful advocate for women, Teuila aims to break down gender barriers in NZ and inspire women across the country to feel empowered and confident.
