Maria Walker is an accomplished New Zealand actress whose career spans film, television and theatre. She is widely recognised for her work across major local and international productions, including appearances in James Cameron's "Avatar" and its sequel "Avatar: The Way of Water." Most recently, Maria joined the core cast of "Shortland Street" as 'Miriama Ropata' and appeared in "Sweet Tooth", "The Brokenwood Mysteries", and the feature films "Went Up The Hill" and "Kāinga." Earlier television credits include "The Dead Lands", "Top of the Lake", "Wanted", "Hardball", and "This Is Not My Life." Her feature film work also includes acclaimed New Zealand productions "Mahana", "Waru", "Mt Zion", "The Dead Lands", and the telefeature "Rage", in which she played the lead role. Maria earned Best Actress at the Wairoa Film Festival for her performance in the short film "Tits on a Bull."
