Kate Laidler Actor Profile

Kate Laidler is a New Zealand actor and graduate of The Actors Program (2024), whose work spans television, film, theatre, and digital media. Her recent screen work also includes roles in "Settling", "Shortland Street", the web series "Daisy May Hate You", and the award-winning TVNZ series "The Sender", for which the ensemble won Best Cast at NZ Web Fest 2025. Kate has built an impressive body of screen work through a range of feature films and short films, including lead roles in "Inducive", "A Demon's Kind of Love", and "The Siren", a project she also wrote and performed in. Additional credits include "Origami", "How We Say Goodbye", "In Her Steps", "Baby Tooth", and "Burner." On stage, Kate most recently appeared in "Mother is a Daughter is a Mother" and has performed in productions including "Rushes", "The Welkin", and numerous works developed through Long Cloud Youth Theatre. Supported by extensive training with leading industry practitioners including Miranda Harcourt, Thomasin McKenzie, Simone Kessell, Gerard Carroll, and Mary McDonald Lewis, Kate continues to establish herself as a versatile and thoughtful performer with a growing presence across New Zealand and international screen productions.
