Blair is a New Zealand-Māori actor probably best known for his role as Rangi Heremaia in New Zealand's longest-running soap Shortland Street. He has also starred in series such as Nothing Trivial (and the television movie), Doves of War, Orange Roughies and Go Girls. Blair also has extensive theatre experience, with his most recent stage credits including Morning Star, Shortland Street: The Musical and Ladies Night.
