Ben Bayly

Ben Bayly is one of New Zealand’s top chefs. Born and raised on a dairy farm in the Waikato, in 1999 Ben was awarded Commis Chef of the Year. His work has since taken him around the world, working at notable restaurants across the UK, Australia and the US. For 9 years Ben worked as Head Chef at the popular Auckland restaurant The Grove. Renowned for his modern-style food using classic French cooking techniques, Ben has won a succession of awards for his work: 2012 Cuisine Best Metropolitan Restaurant Winner; 2014 and 2015 winner of Cuisine Magazine’s NZ Good Food Awards Chef of the Year; 2016 Gilmore’s Chef of the Year. Ben has also worked in television, as co-host of NZ’s My Kitchen Rules 2014 and 2015 and as a guest-chef on Master Chef New Zealand. A fantastic presenter, Ben is perfect for a number of events, live or pre-recorded. Currently, Ben is Executive Chef at the award-winning Auckland restaurant Baduzzi, along with The Grounds in Waitakere - a restaurant he co-founded.
