Miranda Harcourt is a celebrated New Zealand actress, director and acting coach. Her career began over 30 years ago, when she starred as Gemma Redfern in the notorious NZ television series Gloss. Changing gear, Miranda went to study drama therapy in London, and she took theatre projects to prisons in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
These days, Miranda is an internationally renowned acting coach, working with actors such as AnnaSophia Robb, Nicole Kidman, Saoirse Ronan, Dev Patel and many others! She’s also been lucky enough to work with directors like Morten Tyldum and Peter Jackson.
She’s coached on films such as BAFTA-winning film Lion, and worked with director Garth Davis on Mary Magdalene, as well as working on some absolute classics like Bridge to Terabithia and Heavenly Creatures. More recently, Miranda and her husband Stuart McKenzie directed the acclaimed film The Changeover, based on Margaret Mahy’s classic novel. When she’s not working on films, Miranda has taught acting and directing at schools across the world – in London, Sydney, Toronto and at home in New Zealand. She also has one-on-one sessions with individual clients, in person or through video call.

“Leslie could never have come in full bloom without the freedom and life you showed me. You pulled Leslie out of me and I would never have won the award without your help. Thank you so much! I really hope we can do many more films together.”
