He’s tall, dark and handsome, but there’s way more to Kirk Torrance than meets the eye. The former Commonwealth Games swimmer became one of New Zealand’s most recognised faces after completing six seasons of cult hit Outrageous Fortune as core character, ex-cop Wayne Judd. Kirk’s credits are too lengthy to name them all, but most notably he has starred as a leading role beside Cliff Curtis in the film the Dark Horse, starred in AMC’s The Deadlands and main character in TV series Wilde Ride. However, Kirk is not only an actor he’s also also an acclaimed playwright, with his debut play Strata winning a Chapman Tripp Award for outstanding new playwright. Kirk has an infectious sense of humour and you can often find him amusing his cast and crew with his cunning practical jokes. When he’s not plotting his next stage or screen success, you’ll find Kirk searching for the perfect wave on Auckland’s west coast beaches.
