Emmett’s successful career began while he was still at high school when he starred in Kiwi comedy series Seven Periods with Mr. Gormsby. He landed his major break-out television role as the lead character of Axl in popular fantasy series The Almighty Johnsons. Emmett has since gone on to work on other New Zealand projects such as renowned soap opera Shortland Street, TVNZ’s true-life drama Ablaze and mini-drama series The Sounds. He’s featured in a number of US productions including AMC’s Making of the Mob: Chicago and Amazon’s American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story. Emmet’s big screen credits include the role of a dragon pilot in the yet-to-be-released Avatar sequels, US feature films The Last Train and Bella, as well as the Chinese feature film Into the Rainbow. Besides acting, Emmett has developed his passion for writing and direction, co-creating award-winning series’ Auckward Love and Instagram comedy Millennial Jenny alongside his fiancee Holly Shervey. Outside of his busy career, Emmett enjoys a fit and healthy way of living, and took up a vegan diet a few years ago. His main reason being - he cares about the environment and the treatment of animals. As well as caring for the environment, Emmett loves being immersed in it, whether it be on bush walks on ocean swims.
