Debbie began appearing on New Zealand screen as a teenager, starring as the lead in horse-drama series Riding High. Following this, she went on to land guest roles in various television shows before landing the role of core cast member Emma in Kiwi comedy series Nothing Trivial. She has also appeared regularly on prime time hospital drama Shortland Street and US series Ash vs Evil Dead.
